Towards the beginning of each academic year, USI holds its annual Union Organisation Seminar (UOS). 

This week-long event provides training and skills development to student leaders, designed to provide student union sabbatical officers with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to carry out their job to the best of their ability.

This year’s event will be hosted by University College Cork (UCC) from July 17-22. 

Among the modules at the seminar will be: Negotiation Skills; Campaigning and Lobbying; and Marketing and PR skills. Also being delivered are a plethora of student education and welfare specific topics of benefit to all student representatives, including Alcohol & Drug Awareness, Housing Issues, Eating Disorders and Sexual Health workshops.
