Education
The USI believes - in accordance with the United Nations Convention on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights - that higher education should be made equally accessible to all, on the basis of ability, by every appropriate means, and in particular by the progressive introduction of free education.
Free Education has made Ireland's workforce an intelligent one, a hard working one and an employable one. USI believes that a publicly funded education system is of benefit to everyone:
- A nation with more healthcare professionals is of more benefit than a nation with more debt.
- A nation with more engineers is more advanced than a nation with higher emigration.
- A nation with more scholars in general is of more social and cultural value than a nation with high unemployment and no foreign investment.
- This section of the website will provide you with information on the various aspects of higher education in Ireland, from starting college for the first time to applying for a student maintenance grant.
