Below are some frequently asked questions regarding the Leaving Certificate Results:
Q. Who do I talk to if I have questions regarding my results?
A. You should contact the Results Helpline run by the State Examinations Commission on 1800 265 165. The National Parents Council also provide an invaluable source of contact and advice. Their Helpline number is the same as that of the SEC above.
Q. Can I view my exam scripts?
A. Yes you can. When you received your results, you will also have been given a form by the SEC asking you to indicate which scripts (if any) you wish to view.
Q. When do I get to view my scripts?
A. You will be assigned one of three sessions.
Q. What do I do if I wish to appeal one or more of my results?
A. The Commission will provide your school with a personalised appeal application form. In the case of external candidates the form will be enclosed with your results. This form is designed so that you can indicate the subject(s) you wish to appeal.
Q. What is the appeal fee?
A. For the Leaving Cert Established, the appeal fee is €40 per subject and for the Leaving Cert Applied it is €15.50 per subject.
Q. What is the appeal closing date?
A. Appeal applications must be with the Commission by a specified deadline, usually in September. However, this changes every year.
This is quite a confined time interval but is necessary if the Commission is to have the outcome of the appeal process available by mid-October.
