Services of USI

The Union of Students in Ireland is a members based organisation. As such, it seeks to combine its national role with that of supporting its constituent members; predominantly through local unions but often campaigning on the ground.

USI Services include:

Representation

The USI represents over 250,000 students from forty colleges around Ireland. We strive to secure the right of all students to a decent standard of living, with the right to adequate financial support, proper housing and future prospects of employment in Ireland.

Media Presence

The USI has a strong presence in all aspects of the Irish media. Our various campaigns launches and activities regularly receive attention in both the print and broadcast media.

Training

The USI runs a host of training events, Union Organisational Structure training, which includes various modules to enable student union officials to fulfill their roles as efficiently as possible throughout the academic year.

The organisation also runs training for leadership training for student union presidents and PINK Training for LGBT students from around the country come together for a weekend of informative workshops, lectures and talks. The USI is also available to facilitate training to local student unions around the country.

Commerical Services

The USI works to provide commercial services that will benefit the students of Ireland in various industries, including the travel and technological sectors.

Local Students Union Support

The USI supports and advises the student unions of its affiliate colleges in all of their activities. Each USI area officer is responsible for working closely with all of the student unions in their constituency to support them and keep them informed in all of their activities.
